If you live in an apartment in Charleston, SC you can come on out to the fourth annual Lowcountry Blueberry Jam and Blueberry Festival on Sunday, June 22, from 11 am to 7 pm at Blue Pearl Farms and enjoy a relaxing day. While you are there you can listen to some of the area’s finest musicians playing on the stage by Cypress Pond.
The festival features great music, demonstrations by artisans, beekeepers and blueberry keepers, and a special session with members of the Sea Turtle Team. Great food, local growers and producers, artists and artisans, the world famous Blueberry Toss competition, fun activities for kids including kayaking with Coastal Expeditions, and honey tasting fill out the day. And most important of all is to be sure you get a taste of some of the lowcountry’s most delicious blueberries.
The musical lineup features Smoky Weiner and the Hot Links, celebrating 20 years of playing the blues, Donald Merckle and the Blacksmiths, and The Jefferson Coker Band. Special guest musicians will be jamming with Smoky throughout the afternoon. This is an all ages event, and everyone is welcome.
The Friends of Coastal South Carolina will be here with a ‘touch tent’ full of hands-on exploration activities to discover some of the secrets of our rich environment.
Bring a blanket or chairs to set up next to Cypress Pond.
A portion of the proceeds from the festival directly benefits the Friends of Coastal South Carolina to support our local sea turtle conservation program.
