Did somebody say chicken? Last night I had such an amazing time in the kitchen for the National Fried Chicken Day. came around on our calender one more time. My brother, his wife and I really made a celebration out of the national holiday. Instead of going to some fast food chicken joint we decided to create our own fried chicken coop in the apartment.
I wasn’t in the mood for Popeye’s or KFC, not even Bojangles would do it for me. I needed some finger licking, taste bud quenching, do it yourself in the kitchen chicken. And that is exactly what I got.
Here is a Quick and Simple Recipe for Frying Chicken:
(Simple is Key) Gather all of your seasonings for the fried chicken batter. Flower, seasoning salt, pepper and paprika is all you’ll need for the classic taste. Get a large zip lock bag, place your chicken in the bag a few at a time so that each piece can be fully covered then begin to shake. You’ll want your grease to be warming up at this point, so start your fire on about medium high.
Keep it simple, no tricks are required. You’ll know that your grease is ready when you sprinkle a little bit of flower fro your seasoning bag into the pan and it begins to cook.
Place the chicken into the pan gently so you wont catch hot grease on your arm. When the chicken looks like it’s done, it’s done.
You can use this simple recipe all year-round you don’t have to wait for next years national chicken holiday. We understand that some days you just don’t feel like being in the kitchen, there’s a Bojangles right up the street from Abberly at West Ashley on Ashley Phosphate Road 2508.
