It is very important to be sure that everyone in you apartment and community knows how to respond in the event of a hurricane. It would be a good idea to gather the whole family together for a family meeting. Some of the topics to discuss would be:

- What to do about power outages
- Where to meet and whom to contact if you get separated
- Post emergency telephone numbers by the telephones
Gather the food supply, secure your apartment and get more of your neighbors together so that more of the community has better understanding on how to prepare for a hurricane and what to do during a hurricane.
