2nd Annual Veteran's Day 5K Run for the Yorktown is Saturday, November 10, 2012 - 8:00 a.m. Run/Walk. And new this year: Fly-over at the Starting Line!
If you live in an apartment in Charleston, SC and you are interested in getting some exercise before the holidays start, then join the most patriotic race in Charleston! Our Veterans Day 5K is all about honoring Veterans and our Military in a place surrounded by history. Last year the runners began the race with a bang as the anti-tank gun was fired at the starting line.
This year, an AT-6 Texan Warbird will do a fly-over at the start line! Mr. Bobby Jonte will be piloting the aircraft with this aerial display to get our runners pumped up for the 5K! It will be an inspirational morning with a Starting line and Finish line you won’t find at any other 5K in town!
This year's event will once again honor our Nation’s Veterans at the historic USS Yorktown Naval & Maritime Museum with the scenic finish line on the pier.
